We are a family business based in West Yorkshire. Having been in the trade for over 38 years supplying Yorkstone, both reclaimed and new to building contractors, and private householders, hard landscapers and architects. Past projects we have supplied include: The Royal armouries Leeds, York city centre pedestrianisation, Chelsea flower show exhibitors, prestigious London projects and Historic Royal Palaces, to name but a few.

We are well placed in the heart of Yorkshire just South of the famous Ilkley moor to enable us to offer a carefully selected range of Yorkstone products. If you don’t see what you are looking for on our site please get in touch we may be able to source it for you.

The Clayax Yorkstone Ethos

We only ever sell indigenous stone. Much of the imported sandstone that comes into the country is extremely unethical with a huge carbon footprint.

We choose not to be part of this well documented exploitative trade.

Yorkshire stone is quarried in the UK where strict guidelines must be adhered to regarding health and safety and the environment.

Ethics aside, imported sandstone cannot compete with Yorkstone – it is inferior both in terms of its durability and aesthetic appearance – We think so anyway!
